An opportunity exists for a Finance Analyst to join our Analytics & Reporting team. This is a permanent role which can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
You will be joining a high-performing team driving commercial insights and strategic decision-making.
The Finance Analyst is responsible for proactively supporting the Commercial Managers, Analytics & Reporting team, and Executives, by providing timely and high-quality analysis and financial information.
What you'll be doing:
- Undertake financial modelling and analysis; including data mining and reconciliation;
- Build, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc reports used to support the Commercial and Executive teams.
- Assist with the provision of accurate, timely and useable reports to key stakeholders.
- Assist the Commercial Managers in analysing the performance of practice groups and clients.
- Assist with ad hoc requests for support from other teams within Business Development, Finance and HR.
- Assist the Commercial Managers on strategies for improved profitability relating to fee generation, cost reduction, productivity, write-off reduction and working capital management.
- Proactively identify areas for improving quality, productivity, increasing profitability.
What we're looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in a commerce/business related degree
- CA, CPA or equivalent (highly desirable)
- Advanced Excel skills. Power Query / BI and VBA macros an advantage
- Understanding of SQL (highly desirable)
- Self-motivated and inquisitive, with strong attention to detail
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
- Comfortable with an ad hoc workflow.
- Able to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Understands and takes ownership of tasks, ensuring expectations are managed effectively
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
